Pioneer Ridge
Known as Pioneer Ridge, this well-established neighborhood is officially platted as Stroh Farm, so you’ll still see that name on the county plat, HOA documents, and many MLS listings (often shown together as “Pioneer Ridge, Stroh Farm”).
Pioneer Ridge is one of Johnstown’s larger established communities, home to roughly 2,100 residents. Homes here range widely in size, from cozy ranch-style layouts to sprawling two-story homes with finished basements, giving buyers a lot of range to choose from within a single neighborhood.
Why Choose Pioneer Ridge?
Front Range Views That Command a Premium
One of Pioneer Ridge’s defining features is its elevation and orientation toward the mountains:
- Homes positioned along the ridge enjoy unobstructed, expansive views of the Front Range, with several listings specifically calling out views of Longs Peak
- View lots — particularly homes backing to open space or farmland — consistently command a price premium over comparable homes elsewhere in the neighborhood
- West-facing great rooms and upper-level lofts in many floor plans are designed to take advantage of the mountain backdrop
Parks & Open Space Throughout
Pioneer Ridge is well-served by green space, both inside the neighborhood and immediately around it:
- Pioneer Ridge Park, located within the Stroh Farm subdivision at the corner of Cinnamon Teal Avenue and Saxony Road, just west of Pioneer Ridge Elementary — includes a disc (frisbee) golf course in addition to its other recreational amenities
- Additional pocket parks throughout the neighborhood, including Pekin Park and Cinnamon Teal Park, both named for the streets they sit on
- Open farmland and open space bordering many lots, giving residents extra breathing room beyond their own backyards
- A dog-friendly reputation among residents
Pioneer Ridge Elementary School
Pioneer Ridge Elementary sits right in the neighborhood, making this one of the few Johnstown communities where kids can walk to school.
- Located at 2300 Cinnamon Teal Avenue, within the neighborhood
- Serves grades K-5 within the Weld County School District Re-5J (Johnstown-Milliken)
- Enrolls roughly 530-545 students, with a Gifted & Talented program offered
